The Alpine Run X

2027

Back in 2017, the Just Drive team embarked on their first-ever road trip to the Alps. Since then, we've explored much of Central Europe, from Spain to Croatia. The Alpine Run, last held in 2019, remained unchanged during its four-year run simply because it was already near-perfect. As the name suggests, this is a concise 6-day tour through the Alps, featuring some of the best driving roads the region has to offer. Now, after a decade and a hiatus, we’ve decided it’s the perfect time to bring it back to celebrate 10 years! If you’re a true driving enthusiast, this route will not disappoint, and you’ll have the chance to enjoy it alongside a group of like-minded petrolheads.

Route Overview

Day 1 – Folkstone.

Enthusiastic drivers from all over the UK come together for this incredible adventure, but the journey to Folkstone can be exhausting for some, depending on where they start from. That's why we've arranged for an overnight stay, allowing everyone to rest and recharge before embarking on the journey the next day.

To kick off this exciting trip, we'll be hosting a delightful welcome event at the hotel. This will be the ideal occasion to meet and mingle with fellow adventurers and get the conversations flowing before we set off across the channel in the morning.

Day 2 – Switzerland.

The anticipation is palpable as we rise early and hit the road. The Channel Tunnel serves as our gateway to the continent, and we eagerly await the adventure ahead. Our first destination: the legendary old Reims GP Start/Finish Grid, the historic site of the French Grand Prix. The abandoned Circuit Reims-Gueux still stands today, its pit building and grandstand hauntingly impressive, a monument to a glorious era in motorsport. As we take in this historic landmark, we feel a deep sense of awe and reverence for the champions who once roared down this very track. Reluctantly, we move on, knowing the memory of Reims will stay with us forever. Our journey continues southward, ending for the night just over the border of Switzerland in Sainte-Croix. .

Day 3 - Swiss Alps.

With the long drive to the Alps behind us, it's finally time to enjoy some of the incredible roads they have to offer! Today's main highlights are the Grimsel Pass and Furka Pass, renowned for their breath-taking scenery and thrilling routes. These iconic roads, featured in the James Bond film where he pursues Goldfinger through the Alps, we promise an unforgettable driving experience.

After conquering these legendary passes, we'll journey through a valley flanked by towering mountains, heading towards our evening destination just outside Chur. The anticipation for the adventure and the stunning landscapes that await us makes this drive all the more exciting.

Day 4 - Swiss/Italian Alps.

For any petrolhead, this is the kind of day dreams are made of. You wake up in the charming alpine town, eager to hit the road. As you jump into your car and pull out of the car park, your sights are set on the first mountain pass of the day the Julier Pass. This exhilarating route takes you across a stunning mountain range toward Lake Silvaplana and the renowned St. Moritz.

On our way to the lunch stop in Livigno, we will traverse the breathtaking Bernina Pass. But the true highlight of the day awaits us the legendary Stelvio Pass. Known as a must-do for any driving enthusiast, the Stelvio promises an unforgettable experience.

We then continue our journey towards Austria, taking several smaller, lesser-known passes as we make our way to our hotel near Imst for the evening.

Day 5 - Germany.

Today, we must reluctantly bid farewell to the Alps, but the adventure is far from over. We still have a few mountain passes to conquer before we transition to the world-famous German Autobahns. Here, the thrill of legally testing your car's top speed awaits.

Our midday stop is planned at either the Mercedes-Benz Museum or the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, where we'll immerse ourselves in the rich heritage of German automotive excellence. After this fascinating interlude, we'll continue our exhilarating journey on the autobahns.

As this is our final night together as a group, we've chosen a charming German hotel and restaurant for our farewell dinner. Here, we can reminisce about our incredible journey, share stories, and enjoy a final evening of camaraderie over good food and drinks. This promises to be a memorable conclusion to an unforgettable adventure.

Day 6 - Calais

It`s now time for the homeward journey, our route ends in Calais at the ferry/train terminal.
